In her new solo Address, Garnet Henderson embodies and challenges assumptions about women, their bodies, and what women should do with their bodies. She explores the consequences of living and performing under these expectations, and the difference between being looked at and being seen.

Rebecca Lazier returns to solo form for the first time in 15 years to create Conditions, asking how to confront, interpret and accept bodily limitations.  A recent life-threatening boating accident revealed what happens when the body fails and prompted Lazier's questioning the conditions that form the substrata for movement and researching where limits reside.  From immutable realities to pliable perceptions that shape experience and alter emotional landscapes, how do we adapt to given conditions while remaining empathetic and evolving a language of possibility?  This solo is the premiere of what will become an evening length piece.

Joya Powell's A Life of Many Seasons peers into stories of tradition, ritual, and fortitude of a typical New York Jewish family. It is a humorous and moving contemporary dance theater piece that grapples unanswered questions which come with the loss of a loved one. A Life of Many Seasons takes the audience on an autobiographical journey that digs into the remnant effects of the construct of race in America. Live musical accompaniment by collaborating composer/violinist Zoë Aqua. Share in song, libations and familial memories.
